When to use an estimate
An estimate proposes work and a price without asking to be paid. It is the right document for quoting a job. Estimates are available on every plan, and count toward the Free plan's monthly document allowance in the same way invoices do.
After the customer agrees
Once an estimate is accepted you can turn it into an invoice rather than retyping it, so the line items, quantities and rates carry across unchanged.
