Chart of accounts, journals and closing the year

Pro

The accounting layer underneath your invoices and expenses.

The chart of accounts

Your chart of accounts is the list of categories every transaction is filed under, and it determines how your statements come out. DingVoice starts you with a working set, which you can extend as your business needs.

Journal entries

Most entries are created for you when you record an invoice, payment or expense. Journals are for the adjustments that have no document behind them — a correction, a depreciation charge, an accrual.

Closing a period

Closing a fiscal period fixes the figures for it so later edits cannot silently change a set of numbers you have already reported. Reconcile and review before you close.
